“I am very happy to run this race.” Last year Tatiana Arnst was here for the first time. She did however see very little of the running part of the race, for she spent hour upon hour helping others in medical, giving massages.
Now after 5 days she has completed 215 miles. But the number of miles she completes here in 6 day are secondary to something that cannot be counted. “It is a special experience. It is very very important for me, in every aspect. For my outer progress and for my inner progress. For everything.”
“I am very happy. It’s like a miracle for me.”
Nipura and her kitchen crew have done an incredible job. Take a step inside the kitchen on their last day preparing hundreds of delicious meals and snacks.
The crew comes from many different countries and not all appear in this picture. They are Maria from Hamburg, Gerda from Salzburg, Harikanta from Moscow, Madina from Kazakhstan, Surudhuni from NY, Prageeti from New Zealand, Shvastanee from New Zealand, and Kshema from Ukraine.
Miracles
Do happen
In every human life.
“I knew I was going to break it because my race in South Africa was very very tough.” Kobi Oren who is leading the 10 day race has just set a personal best of 693 miles.
It is for a very good reason that he has been wearing bib number One. He has been leading everyone right from start of the race. Now heading into his final 23 hours he is transcending his previous achievement with every new lap.
Kobi had anticipated that he would break his record but thought it would come in the closing hours of the final day.
“I have a new destination now of 740 miles. This means I have to run 50 more miles for this day. It sounds like a lot and it sounds like it is not a lot. I don’t know what will happen.”
“This is what I like about multi day running. Multi day running is like life. In life you need to push yourself and have results.”
“I am not going to slow down. I would like to reach 740, and I would do anything to reach 740 and above.”

Hoskuldur had an extraordinary goal when he entered the 6 day race. The 66 year old runner from Iceland, who is running his first 6 day race wanted to run at least the distance that would add up to 10 marathons.
Not too long after noon today he raced across the finish line in celebration. He had reached his goal. His son and his son’s partner were there to celebrate his great achievement.
Hoskuldur is a modest and quiet man. Yet his strength and determination are apparent when you learn about some of his other extreme sport experience. He once competed the triple ironman, with just 15 minutes before the cut off. Just under 60 hours.
He now has almost a full day to complete many more miles.
What? Do I have to see any miracle?
Am I not the world’s greatest miracle?
Who can equal me in performing miracles?
One miracle I have already shown:
I was the God supreme,
And now I am a feeble man.
My second miracle will take place
In the distant future:
I shall become
Once more the Lord of the Universe.
Thank you Utpal. And to the runners: What a journey! Brave warriors! And God bless all the helpers.
Thanks Uptal. I love your blog. Looking forward to 3100.
